Hiroko Mori is a respected Japanese voice actor and stage performer, known for her extensive work in classic anime, Western animation dubbing, and video games. She was born on August 17, 1933, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Mori began her career in the 1950s as a stage actress, performing with several theatrical troupes before transitioning to voice acting. Her voice, often described as a warm yet powerful mezzo-soprano to alto, became well-suited for a range of characters, from mysterious heroines to motherly figures. One of her notable early roles in anime was as Bela in the classic 1960s series Yōkai Ningen Bem. This was followed by other significant parts, such as Ms. Shimizu in Attack No. 1 and Ea in The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. She also voiced Haruko Shimizu in Attack No. 1 and Rose Bertin in The Rose of Versailles.

In addition to her anime work, Mori built a substantial career dubbing foreign films and animated series into Japanese. She is widely recognized as the voice of Muriel Bagge in the Japanese dub of the American animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog. She also voiced the character Lizzie in the Japanese versions of the Cars film franchise, including Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3. A more recent anime role was as Grandmother Bubby in the 2008 original net animation (ONA) series Chocolate Underground. Her work also extended to video games, with performances such as Madam Tarebou in the Sakura Wars series.

Throughout her decades-long career, Hiroko Mori has been affiliated with several talent management agencies, including Production Baobab. Her enduring presence in the industry and her ability to portray characters with both warmth and authority have made her a beloved figure in Japanese entertainment.
