Martine Irzenski

Description
Martine Irzenski is a French actress who has built a prolific career in dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous Hollywood actresses while also contributing to animated series and films. Her path to voice work began in her youth, rooted in a passion for performance and a family connection to the industry.

Irzenski started her theatrical training at the age of fourteen, receiving a special exemption to join the theatrical workshop in Ivry where she studied under Antoine Vitez. She continued her training in Saint-Maur and began performing in school tours and with theater companies, playing roles such as Ophelia in Hamlet at the age of seventeen. Her parents worked at the Société Parisienne de Sonorisation (SPS), a dubbing company; her father was a sound technician, and her mother was a calligrapher. This environment allowed her to be exposed to the dubbing process from a young age, and she auditioned for the Disney film The Aristocats under the direction of Roger Rudel, which marked her entry into the profession.

In the realm of animation, Irzenski is recognized for her role as Cathy in the French dub of the classic anime series Hana no Ko Lunlun, titled Le Tour du monde de Lydie. Her other notable anime and animation voice work includes the role of Sabina in Jungle Jack, Naussica in The Magicien, Maddy (the mother) in Danny Phantom, and Airazor in Beast Wars: Transformers. She also provided voices for series such as Nicky Larson, Rahan, and Kuzco, an Emperor at School, as well as the character of the witch in the 2021 animated film Pil.

While her animation work is a significant part of her filmography, Irzenski is perhaps most widely known for her extensive dubbing of live-action actresses. She is the official French voice for Sarah Jessica Parker, famously dubbing her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. She has also been a regular French voice for Meg Ryan, including in the iconic film When Harry Met Sally..., for Diane Lane, Ashley Judd, and Cate Blanchett, among many others. Her career has spanned several decades, with her work reflecting the evolution of the dubbing industry in France.
