Carmita Arenas

Description
Carmita Arenas was a Spanish voice actor recognized for her extensive work in dubbing for television and her long career in radio. She began her professional journey in the early 1940s as a member of the prestigious radio drama company Cuadro de Actores de Radio Madrid, where she remained until 1949. Following this period, she spent time in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Mexico before returning to Spain in 1973 and rejoining the Cadena Ser network. Her radio career included roles in popular serials such as La fragata del diablo, El secreto de la mansión roja, La mansión de Jalna, Esmeralda, and Me llaman Gorrión, as well as the long-running program Teatro del Aire starting in 1959.

In the field of dubbing, Arenas was active from at least the late 1970s, providing Spanish voices for numerous television series and films. She is noted for voicing the title character in the anime series Koguma no Misha, known in Spanish as El Osito Misha, which was dubbed in 1979. For this role, she lent her voice to the bear cub Misha, originally portrayed by Japanese voice actor Keiko Yokozawa. Her other notable dubbing work included providing the Spanish voice for the character Carrie Ingalls in the series La casa de la pradera and for Tommy Bradford in Con ocho basta. She also voiced the character Dixie, likely referring to the mouse in the series Dixie, el gatito. Her credits demonstrate a recurring association with dubbing child and young characters, such as Shirley Temple and Willie Aames, in various productions for Spanish television.

Carmita Arenas passed away in Madrid on September 7, 2011, at the age of 92.
