Akira Hatta is an original creator and scriptwriter known for his work in Japanese animation during the 1970s. His professional credits are primarily associated with the mecha genre, a popular category of anime featuring giant robots.

Hatta is credited as one of the original creators of the anime television series Blocker Corps, known in Japan as Blocker Gundan 4 Machine Blaster. This series, which ran for 38 episodes from July 1976 to March 1977, was a production involving Nippon Animation and Ashi Productions. The story follows a team of four young pilots who operate super robots to defend Earth from an invading civilization.

In addition to his role as a creator, Hatta also contributed as a scriptwriter on Blocker Corps, having written seven episodes of the series. His scriptwriting work extended to other anime productions of the era, including Akū Daisakusen Srungle, for which he wrote four episodes, and Acrobunch, where he contributed to one episode. He also provided screenplays for the series Ginguiser.
