Rosalinda Galli
Description
Rosalinda Galli is an Italian voice actress born in Rome on February 27, 1949, widely recognized for her extensive work in dubbing anime series during the first boom of Japanese animation in Italy. Active as a child actress in small roles, she became a constant presence in Rai radio prose from 1966, though typically in secondary parts. In the early 1970s, she transitioned to voice acting, quickly becoming one of the primary voices associated with the influx of anime into the country.
Her career in anime began in earnest in 1976 when she provided the Italian voice for the protagonist in Vicky the Viking, which holds the distinction of being the first anime series broadcast in Italy. Two years later, she voiced the character Hikaru Makiba in UFO Robot Grendizer, a role she would later reprise in a 2005 redubbing. Throughout the 1980s, she continued to define iconic characters, most notably as the voice of Lum in Lum, the Space Girl, a role for which she also served as the dubbing director. Other significant roles from this decade include Beautiful Tachibana in The Unbeatable Daitarn 3. Her dubbing activity continued through the 1990s, the second boom era for anime in Italy, where she took on roles such as the complex Fukiko Ichinomiya, also known as Lady Miya, in the series Dear Brother.
Beyond her on-screen voice roles, Galli's notable achievements include her work as a dubbing director, a role she performed for series such as Urusei Yatsura and later for Transformers: Cybertron. Her extensive filmography also encompasses a wide variety of other anime, lending her voice to characters in Candy Candy, Lady Oscar, Mila and Shiro, Dragon Ball Z, and many others. Rosalinda Galli concluded her voice acting career in 2007, after which she focused exclusively on her work as a dubbing director for the company E.T.S., primarily on live-action TV series and animated shows.
