Jorge Sánchez Fogarty was a Mexican actor and director, born in Mexico City on January 25, 1944, who became a prominent figure in the Latin American dubbing industry. He began his entertainment career in 1961 and transitioned to full-time voice acting in 1964, a period when Mexico City was solidifying its position as the primary hub for Spanish-language localization.

His voice acting career is distinguished by his work in dubbing animated and live-action series for Mexican audiences. He was the first voice for the character Orko in the popular animated series He-Man y los amos del universo. Among his most significant roles in anime, he provided the voice for the protagonist Shadar in the series Bōken Shōnen Shadar, known in Spanish as Sombrita, which aired from 1967 to 1968. His other voice credits in animation include the Archangel Gabriel in the Mexican feature Los 3 reyes magos. He also contributed to the dubbing of the anime Maken Liner 0011 Henshin Seyo!. Beyond animation, his extensive dubbing work encompassed a wide range of characters in live-action series and films, including roles in popular shows such as La familia Partridge, Patrulla juvenil, and Starsky & Hutch, as well as providing voices for several Jack Nicholson roles in the dubs of films like Mi vida es mi vida.

In addition to his on-screen and voice acting, Sánchez Fogarty held significant behind-the-scenes roles. He worked as a translator and dubbing director at studios like CINSA, and later held executive positions at Audiomaster 3000, eventually becoming Vice President of Production for the Radiópolis group within Grupo Televisa. He also directed several successful telenovelas for Televisa during the 1980s, including Los años felices, Los años pasan, and Teresa. His son, Adrián Fogarty, also became a well-known voice actor in the Mexican dubbing industry. Jorge Sánchez Fogarty passed away on December 4, 1993, in Mexico City.
