Her portrayal of Maki Rowel in Ginga Hyōryū Vifam is considered a significant early main role.
Throughout the 1980s, Hamura took on a variety of supporting and main characters in prominent anime productions. She voiced Taiko Kasuga in the 1984 drama Glass Mask and appeared in the mecha series Chōjū Kishin Dancouga in 1985. Her credits from this era include multiple minor roles in the psychological thriller Monster from 2004 to 2005, a role in Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians in 2005, and voicing an Old Woman in an episode of Claymore in 2007. These later credits represent her most recent documented contributions to anime.
