Description
Ray Omishi, also known as Rei Omishi, is a Japanese manga artist and screenwriter recognized for her contributions to the fantasy and comedy genres in both manga and anime. Her career is notably defined by a long-term collaboration with writer Satoru Akahori, for whom she provided the artwork for several successful series.

Omishi first gained prominence as the illustrator for the Sorcerer Hunters manga, which was serialized in Dengeki Comic Gao! magazine from 1993 to 1998. The story, created by Satoru Akahori, was adapted into an anime series, bringing significant attention to Omishi's artistic style. She continued her partnership with Akahori on the manga Chouse Kitan Maze Bakunetsu Jikuu, also known as Maze, which ran in Comic Dragon magazine from 1995 to 1999 and likewise received an anime adaptation.

Beyond her work as an illustrator for existing stories, Omishi is credited as the original creator for the series Omishi Magical Theater: Risky Safety. The manga was serialized in Dengeki Comic Gao! from 1999 to 2000 and published in three volumes by MediaWorks. For the anime adaptation, which aired on WOWOW from October 1999 to April 2000, she is listed as the original story and character creator. The series follows an apprentice shinigami named Risky and an apprentice angel named Safety who are forced to share a single body, with their personalities manifesting based on the emotions of the people around them.

Omishi's body of work includes several other manga titles, such as Puchi puchi, Kuresento mūn (Crescent Moon), Knight Flyer Tōkyō mahō-jin, and Ayakashi ko Tan. She also produced an art collection titled Positive girls! Omishi rei gashū. Through her work on influential series like Sorcerer Hunters and her own creation Omishi Magical Theater: Risky Safety, Ray Omishi has established a distinct presence in the late 1990s and early 2000s era of manga and anime production.
