Asuka Shiori
Description
Asuka Shiori is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on September 27, 1997, in Germany, though she was raised in Chiba Prefecture from a young age. Her interest in performing arts was sparked by her mother's love for theater, and she was inspired to pursue voice acting after watching the anime Tegami Bachi and being impressed by the vocal range of actress Miyuki Sawashiro. To follow this dream, she attended a combined junior and senior high school that allowed her to also enroll in a voice actor training school.
Shiori made her professional debut in 2016, voicing a background student in the television anime series orange. That same year, she passed the first audition for the newly established voice acting department of the agency Stardust Promotion and officially joined them. In 2017, she became a founding member of the voice actor unit SoundOrion, where her representative color was purple; the group was active for approximately eight years before disbanding in December 2024. After nearly nine years with Stardust Promotion, Shiori left the agency in March 2025 to continue her career as a freelance talent.
One of her notable major roles is Naomi Takagi in the mixed-media project and 2021 television anime PuraOre! Pride of Orange, which focuses on a group of girls playing ice hockey. As part of this project, she became a member of the voice actor unit SMILE PRINCESS, with her representative color being light pink. The unit performed the anime's opening theme song and was active until August 2024. Beyond this series, her other anime voice roles include Gyogyo-ko in Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku and appearances in series such as Liar, Liar, Hazurewaku, Platinum End, and The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses. She has also lent her voice to a wide variety of video games, including Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden (as Suda Shidare), Azur Lane, Monster Strike, Kemono Friends 3, and The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls.
Throughout her career, Shiori has been known for her collaborative work, particularly with fellow SMILE PRINCESS and SoundOrion members, forming close friendships with voice actresses such as Saika Kitamori, Maki Kawase, and Nanami Matsui. She cites Miyuki Sawashiro, Mariya Ise, and Kana Hanazawa as mentors and inspirations. Her achievements include not only voice acting but also significant musical contributions, with numerous character songs and theme performances for anime and games. She has also been active in stage plays,朗读剧 (reading theater), and narration for television commercials and corporate promotions, demonstrating her versatility as a performer.
