Hajime Yamamura

Description
Hajime Yamamura is a Japanese manga artist and writer, born on May 1, 1968, in Matsuto, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. He made his professional debut in 1991 with the one-shot Marginal Mirage. Prior to creating his best-known work, Yamamura developed several manga series, including Kamunagara, a supernatural action series serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday Gene-X, and Embryo Road, a fantasy adventure manga that ran for seven volumes. Yamamura is the original creator of the manga series Kamisama Dolls, which he both wrote and illustrated. The series was serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X from December 19, 2006, to February 19, 2013, and was compiled into twelve tankōbon volumes. The story centers on Kyouhei Kuga, a young man who flees his rural hometown to start anew in Tokyo, only to be pulled back into conflicts involving ancient god-like wooden dolls called kakashi. Kamisama Dolls was adapted into a thirteen-episode anime television series by the studio Brain's Base, directed by Seiji Kishi, which aired from July 5 to September 27, 2011. Following the conclusion of Kamisama Dolls, Yamamura continued to create new manga, including Ten ni Hibiki, Aoki Ao no Atopos, and Oto no Kyoushitsu, a series about music school students launched in October 2014. Throughout his career, Yamamura has consistently worked within the seinen demographic, focusing on action, supernatural fantasy, and drama, often exploring themes of family legacy and the clash between modern life and ancient traditions.
