Cristina Grado was an Italian actress and voice actress, known for her extensive work dubbing foreign films and television series into Italian, including numerous anime titles. She was born Maria Cristina Grado on February 2, 1939, in Rome, Italy, and passed away in the same city on January 3, 2016. Her career in performance began in the early 1950s, with her initial work being in live-action Italian cinema.
Grado's most prominent and enduring contribution to anime was providing the Italian voice for the character Kaede in the popular series Inuyasha. She voiced the role from episodes 27 through 167, as well as in the first two animated films, InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time and InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass. Another significant anime role was as Miss Hudson in the series Sherlock Hound.
Her voice acting credits also include the role of Grandma Kijima in the series St. Luminous Mission High School.
