Leon Boden was a German actor and voice artist, recognized for his extensive work in dubbing foreign-language films and series for the German-speaking market. Born Dietrich Georg Boden on July 14, 1958, in Kiel, Germany, he pursued his artistic education at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he studied acting, directing, and singing, graduating with a diploma in vocal performance. His career spanned over three decades, during which he became one of the most prominent voices in German dubbing.

While Boden was a prolific stage and screen actor, appearing in numerous German television productions such as "Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast" and "Die Rote Meile," his most widespread recognition came from his voice work. He provided the German dubbing voice for more than 600 film and television roles. He was best known as the regular German voice for Hollywood actors Denzel Washington and Jason Statham, a role that defined much of his career. He also lent his voice to other major stars in individual films, including Will Smith in "Independence Day," Samuel L. Jackson in "The Negotiator," and actors such as Laurence Fishburne, Idris Elba, and Wesley Snipes.

In the context of anime, Boden contributed to the German dubs of Japanese animated series. A notable example is his role in the anime series "Wunderbare Pollyanna," the German adaptation of "Ai Shōjo Pollyanna Monogatari." In this series, he voiced the character Dr. Chilton. This work was part of his broader dubbing career, which also included voice work for animated films and video games. He voiced the character Rafiki in the German dubs of "The Lion King 1½" and the series "The Lion Guard". His contributions to the German localization of international media, both animated and live-action, were substantial, and he remained active in the industry until his death on April 18, 2020, in Dresden.
