Hitoshi Kubota is a Japanese narrator and voice actor born on March 27, 1951, in Yamanashi Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Sigma Seven. Kubota is widely recognized as one of Japan's busiest narrators, known for his distinctive, easily understood tone and his ability to adapt his delivery to suit a wide variety of programs.

His career is defined by an enormous volume of narration work across television, anime, and commercials. He has stated that he never turns down work, and at his busiest, he has handled over one hundred jobs in a single month. He is particularly well-known for his narration on the documentary series Jounetsu Tairuku and for F1 Grand Prix-related programming, a role he inherited due to the similarity of his voice to the late narrator Tatsuya Jo. Kubota is also the voice behind commercials for products like the Nintendo DS and Wii. His philosophy as a narrator is to remain a supporting presence, believing that the role is to convey the script without overshadowing the subject on screen.

In anime, Kubota is primarily known for his work as a narrator, providing the guiding voice for numerous series. Some of his notable narration credits include the 1982 series Acrobunch - The Quest for Treasure, where he also played the role of RC. He has served as the narrator for many other series, such as GoShogun, Plawres Sanshiro, Steam Detectives, The Galaxy Railways, One Outs, Classroom☆Crisis, The Gymnastics Samurai, Ranking of Kings, and its sequel Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage. In 2023, he narrated the Netflix original web anime Ooku: The Inner Chambers, and in 2025, he took on the role of narrator and the character Badge-kun in ZatsuTabi -That's Journey-.

Beyond narration, Kubota has taken on other character roles. He played Heigoro Todo in The Galaxy Railways and provided the voice for a character listed as "Voice of God" in the 2020 series Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. His film work includes narration for compilation movies of GoShogun and the live-action drama The Taika Reforms.

Within the industry, Kubota is respected for his consistent performance and vocal stamina.
