Ayano Yamane is a Japanese manga artist born on December 18, 1977, on Awaji Island in Hyōgo Prefecture. She made her professional debut in 1996 and is recognized as a creator of josei manga, a category of comics aimed at adult women, though she is best known for her work within the yaoi genre, which focuses on romantic relationships between male characters. Her artistic style is characterized by detailed illustrations and a blend of drama and humor.

Yamane has created several long-running manga series, with her most successful work being the Finder Series. Serialized since 2002, the Finder Series follows the tumultuous relationship between a young freelance photographer and a powerful crime lord. The series began publication under the now-defunct Biblos imprint before being taken over by Libre Publishing. It has been translated into multiple languages, including English, German, French, Chinese, and Polish, and has appeared on bestseller lists. The Finder Series was adapted into an original video animation (OVA) released in 2012.

Another notable original work is A Foreign Love Affair, a standalone manga published in 2003. The story centers on the son of a yakuza family who begins a romance with an Italian cruise ship captain during his honeymoon. This manga was adapted into a two-episode OVA released between 2007 and 2008.
