Seibō Kitahara
Description
Seibō Kitahara is a Japanese writer and creator recognized for his work in the manga and anime industries, primarily as an original story author. Kitahara is notably credited as the writer for the manga series Ikusa no Ko: The Legend of Oda Nobunaga. This historical manga, which focuses on the life of the Japanese daimyo Oda Nobunaga, was serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon from 2010 to 2022. The series was illustrated by acclaimed manga artist Tetsuo Hara, best known for Fist of the North Star, with the story credited to Kitahara.
Kitahara is also the original creator behind the anime and manga property Mori no Senshi Bonolon. This work, which centers on a young forest warrior who helps those in need, was adapted into a twenty-six episode anime television series that aired from 2007 to 2008. The production of the anime involved Tetsuo Hara in a planning capacity. Kitahara is credited as the author of the text for the Bonolon picture book series, with Tetsuo Hara again involved as a producer.
Kitahara’s creative identity is closely tied to the production company Coamix, a publishing firm founded by Tetsuo Hara and former Shueisha editor Nobuhiko Horie. His major works have been published by Coamix in their magazines, and his collaborations with Tetsuo Hara represent a significant part of his known output. While detailed public biographical information about Kitahara is scarce, his credited role as a writer on these projects establishes his position as an original creator within the industry, contributing to both long-form historical manga and children's fantasy anime.
