Description
Seiji Wakayama is a manga artist known for his work on the series Fantastic Detective Labyrinth. His professional identity is confirmed through his credited role as the illustrator of this manga, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Special. The series, written by Meito Banjō, ran from August 2006 to August 2008 and was compiled into eight volumes.

Wakayama’s most significant contribution to the industry is his artwork for Fantastic Detective Labyrinth. The manga’s story is set in a rebuilt city called Kyuto, following a catastrophic earthquake that destroyed Tokyo, and follows a young boy detective with supernatural abilities. The series blends occult detective fiction with supernatural elements.

The success of the manga led to an anime television adaptation produced by Studio Deen, which aired on TV Tokyo from October 2007 to March 2008 for a total of 25 episodes. The adaptation was based on the story from the early volumes of the manga. In this project, Wakayama’s role remained as the original illustrator, with the adaptation credits going to director Hiroshi Watanabe and the animation staff at Studio Deen. The anime was later released on DVD in North America in January 2015.
