Namie Amuro

Description
Namie Amuro's involvement in anime voice acting is limited to a single, notable role. Her primary and best-documented voice acting credit is for the character Amura in the popular computerized anime series The World of GOLDEN EGGS. She made her voice acting debut with this role in 2007. The character of Amura, a mystery girl, was featured in a special episode included as a bonus DVD with her sixth studio album, Play, which was released on June 27, 2007. In the episode, Amura appeared alongside the Okinawan ethnic music group GushiKen Band. The collaboration came about because Amuro, a fan of the show, personally requested to participate in a joint project while she was producing her album. The Amura character and this special episode were later referenced and included as an extra feature on her Namie Amuro PLAY tour 2007 concert DVD, which was released in 2008. Aside from this specific voice role, her extensive career connections to the anime world are primarily through her music, having performed numerous theme songs for series such as One Piece, Inuyasha, Death Note, and Pokémon, among others.
