Yuna Kagesaki

Description
Yuna Kagesaki is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator born on March 3, 1973, who has built a diverse career since her professional debut in the 1990s. She is known for working under several pen names depending on the nature of the project: her primary name, Yuna Kagesaki, is used for her mainstream non-pornographic comics; Yuna Kagezaki appears on her early work Sakura no Ichiban; Yuna Kagesaki is used for her computer graphics contributions to PC games; and Yuta Kageyama is reserved for her adult manga and adult game content. Her early career in the 1990s was characterized by erotic and adult works, a period during which she created the one-shot Vicious. Serialized from 1996 to 1998, Vicious was notable for receiving an anime adaptation in 2001, marking an early transition of her work to the screen. Her first non-erotic series, Sakura no Ichiban, a comedy about a student's life in Tokyo, was published in 2001.

Kagesaki achieved broader international recognition with her longest-running series, Cheeky Vampire, also known as Karin, which was serialized from 2003 to 2008. This romantic comedy, centering on a vampire family with a unique twist, became her most widely translated work and received an anime adaptation, solidifying her status as a prominent creator in the shonen demographic. Following this success, she continued to produce a mix of fantasy and comedy series, including AiON from 2008 to 2012, as well as contributing to established franchises by illustrating the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni manga. Her later works include Onii-chan Control, Tamanyan, and Majo no Ie: Ellen no Nikki, demonstrating a sustained career across various genres. Beyond manga, her artistic skills have been applied to illustrating light novels, including those based on her own Cheeky Vampire series, and providing character designs for numerous video games, spanning both general audience titles and adult games. Her body of work reflects a career that evolved from early adult content to establish a significant presence in mainstream shonen manga, marked by a recurring blend of comedy, fantasy, and romance.
