Emilie Barlow

Description
Emilie-Claire Barlow is a Canadian voice actress and jazz singer with a career spanning over three decades. Born on June 6, 1976, in Toronto, Canada, she grew up in a family of professional musicians, which led her to begin singing in television and radio commercials by the age of seven. She studied voice at the Etobicoke School of the Arts and music theory and arranging at Humber College.

Barlow's voice acting career is extensive, with a focus on animated television series. She is perhaps best known for her long-running role as Courtney in the Total Drama franchise, voicing the character from the series debut in 2007 through Total DramaRama in 2023, as well as appearing in several spin-offs and specials. Another significant early role was providing voices for two Sailor Guardians in the English dubs of Sailor Moon; she voiced Sailor Mars in the DiC dub and later Sailor Venus in the Cloverway dub.

In the Bakugan franchise, Barlow provided the voice for two different characters, as noted. She voiced Alice Gehabich in the first season, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and its subsequent season, Bakugan: New Vestroia. Years later, she returned to the series to voice a different character, Chris, in Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge. Beyond these roles, her filmography includes voice work in numerous other animated series, such as Chrissy in 6teen, Bunny in Almost Naked Animals, Theresa Falcone in Fugget About It, and various characters in Numb Chucks.

While her voice acting career is notable, Barlow is also a highly accomplished jazz musician. She has released numerous albums on her own label, Empress Music Group, and has won two Juno Awards for her jazz recordings. Her performance career has taken her to major venues and festivals around the world.
