Yasuo Iwata
Description
Yasuo Iwata was a Japanese voice actor and actor born on January 19, 1942, in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. At the time of his death, he was affiliated with the talent agency Mausu Promotion. He passed away on October 24, 2009, in Musashino, Tokyo, due to lung cancer at the age of 67. His career in the industry spanned from the 1960s until 2009.
Iwata was widely recognized for his long-standing role as Nanbutsu Isasaka, the next-door neighbor, in the long-running and popular anime series Sazae-san. He was the third actor to take on this character in the show's history.
Beyond this signature role, he contributed his voice to a variety of other anime series. His anime credits include roles such as Asona in The Vision of Escaflowne, Marius in Last Exile, Kukai in Zenki, and Mr. Ijuuin in Tokyo Mew Mew. He also voiced characters in Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san, Heat Guy J, and a special titled Lupin III: The Columbus Files.
