Victor Carsrud

Description
Victor Carsrud is an American actor known for his work in English-language dubs of anime series and films, primarily during the late 1990s and early 2000s. His career is closely associated with ADV Films and its successor, Sentai Filmworks, where he provided voices for numerous productions.

Carsrud is most recognized for his role as Ryu Nakanishi, the pilot of the God Phoenix and the team member known as G-5 or Ryu the Owl, in the Gatchaman franchise. He voiced the character in multiple adaptations, including the ADV/Sentai Filmworks dub of the original Gatchaman television series and the Gatchaman The Movie compilation film. He also provided the voice for Ryu in the English redub of the Gatchaman OVA series.

Beyond his signature role in Gatchaman, Carsrud built an extensive filmography by voicing a wide array of secondary and supporting characters. His credits include Kei, the Knight of Light, in Prétear; additional voices in the English adaptation of Neon Genesis Evangelion; and roles in series such as Noir, where he played Captain and Killam, and RahXephon, where he voiced multiple characters including Operator A and Kim's Father. Other notable credits include appearances in Excel Saga, Gantz, Chrono Crusade (also known as St. Luminous Mission Jihan), and Kurau: Phantom Memory.

Throughout his voice acting career, Carsrud frequently collaborated with a consistent group of voice actors and directors based in Texas. He worked on numerous projects with fellow actors such as Christine M. Auten, John Swasey, Monica Rial, and Chris Patton, and was often directed by Matt Greenfield. This period of work contributed significantly to the body of English-dubbed anime released in North America during that era.
