Manlio De Angelis was an Italian actor and voice actor, born in Rome on January 9, 1935, who became a prominent figure in the world of Italian dubbing. He was the son of the historic voice actor Gualtiero De Angelis, and his children, Vittorio and Eleonora De Angelis, also followed him into the profession. De Angelis passed away on July 3, 2017, at the age of 82.

While De Angelis began his career as an on-screen actor in the early 1960s, he was far more prolific as a voice actor and dubbing director. He is best known for providing the official Italian voice for numerous renowned Hollywood actors, including Alan Arkin, Richard Dreyfuss, and Joe Pesci. His extensive live-action dubbing work also includes giving a voice to Martin Brody in the Jaws film series and David Starsky in the television series Starsky & Hutch.

In the realm of animation, De Angelis contributed his voice to several projects. He voiced Friar Tuck in the Italian-language version of the 1973 Disney film Robin Hood and was the voice of Yosemite Sam in the Italian dub of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. His work also extended to dubbed anime, where he took on roles such as Raiatt in the Lupin III television special Seven Days Rhapsody. Raiatt is a former mercenary partner of the character Daisuke Jigen, who approaches Jigen under the guise of reconciliation only to betray him. Another of his anime roles was Teodoro, also known as Carter, in the film Nagagutsu o Haita Neko 80 Nichikan Sekai Isshū, known in English as Puss n' Boots Around the World.

Beyond these specific roles, his anime dubbing credits include the character Oota in Tokyo Godfathers and a role in the film Stink Bomb. His career was marked by a high level of activity and recognition within the Italian dubbing industry, culminating in his receipt of the Leggio d'oro career award for dubbing direction in July 2006. His work as a dubbing director also included overseeing the Italian version of the film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
