Eiji Inuki
Description
Eiji Inuki is a Japanese manga artist and original creator known primarily for his work on the B-Daman franchise. He is credited as the original author of the manga series B-伝説! バトルビーダマン (B-Legend! Battle B-Daman), which was serialized in Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic magazine from April 2002 to November 2005 and compiled into eight volumes. This manga served as the foundation for a multimedia franchise that included toys, anime adaptations, and related media.
Born on June 29, 1971, in Tokyo Prefecture, Inuki’s most prominent work is the original concept for the B-Daman series, a property that centers on a sport using marble-firing devices known as B-Daman. The original manga’s success led to an anime television series, B-伝説! バトルビーダマン (B-Legend! Battle B-Daman), which premiered in Japan in January 2004. Inuki is officially credited as the original creator for this anime as well as its sequel series, B-伝説! バトルビーダマン 炎魂 (Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits!), which aired from 2005 to 2006.
His involvement in the franchise extended to later installments. Inuki is listed as the original creator for the anime Bakkyuu HIT! Crash Bedaman, which is an alternate title for the first B-Legend! Battle B-Daman series, as well as for the subsequent productions Cross Fight Bedaman (2011) and Cross Fight B-Daman eS (2012). The B-Daman franchise, built upon his original work, became a notable children’s property in the mid-2000s, often compared to contemporary series like Beyblade for its focus on competitive play and dramatized versions of classic games. Through his creation of the original manga and story concepts, Eiji Inuki established the narrative and world that formed the basis for the multiple anime adaptations and toy lines within the B-Daman media franchise.
