Kelly Metzger is a Canadian voice and theater actress, born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 25, 1980, and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her career in performance began on the stage, making her debut in the title role of Anne of Green Gables and performing with several Vancouver-based theater companies before transitioning to voice acting.
Metzger has become a familiar presence in English-language dubs of anime series. One of her most recognized roles in this genre is Sayu Yagami, the younger sister of the protagonist Light Yagami, in the anime adaptation of the popular manga Death Note. Another significant anime credit is the role of Kaoru Matsubara, the tomboyish middle-school student who transforms into the superhero Powered Buttercup, in the 2006 magical girl anime series Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z. Her other anime voice work includes Cocovet in Elemental Gelade, Wool in.hack//Roots, various characters in The Story of Saiunkoku, Shima in InuYasha, and Phoebe in Tai Chi Chasers.
