Ai Kago

Description
Ai Kago is a Japanese entertainer whose career has primarily been as a singer and idol, but she has also performed voice acting roles connected to her music projects. She was born on February 7, 1988, in Nara, Japan. Kago began her career in 2000 at the age of 12 after successfully auditioning for the popular girl group Morning Musume as part of its fourth generation. Her energetic personality and partnership with fellow member Nozomi Tsuji quickly gained her widespread popularity.

Within the Hello! Project collective, Kago became a founding member of the highly successful sub-group Mini Moni, which was marketed towards a younger audience. It was through this group that she obtained her most direct voice acting credits. She provided the voice for her animated counterpart, Aibon, in two series of anime shorts: Mini Moni the TV in 2001 and Mini Moni Yaru no da Pyon! in 2003. Her involvement in voice work extended to the Hamtaro franchise, where she and other Morning Musume members voiced hamster characters. Kago voiced a character named Aiin-chan in several Hamtaro projects. According to manga artist Arina Tanemura, Kago's likeness, particularly her hairstyle, served as inspiration for the character Mitsuki Koyama in the manga and anime series Full Moon o Sagashite.

Kago remained active in Hello! Project until 2007, when her contract was terminated following a series of personal scandals. After a hiatus, she resumed her career in 2008, focusing on solo music projects, including jazz albums, and live-action film roles in both Japanese and Hong Kong cinema. While she has continued to work in entertainment, her known voice acting credits are specifically tied to her tenure with Hello! Project in the early 2000s.
