Atsuko Takahata is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on October 11, 1954, in Zentsūji, Kagawa Prefecture. She is a graduate of the drama program at Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music and is affiliated with the theater company Seinenza. Her career in entertainment began in the mid-1970s, and she has since built a substantial body of work across live-action television, film, and anime.

Takahata's contributions to anime span several decades and include a variety of roles. One of her earlier voice acting credits is from 1980, when she played the role of Sanae Yamishi in a television adaptation of the classic novel Twenty-Four Eyes. In the early 1990s, she was part of the science fiction OVA series Iczer Reborn, providing the voice for the character Neos Gold. Her work in the 1990s also included a role in the film X/1999 as Kanoe and as Takamiya in the OVA Twilight of the Dark Master.

In addition to these earlier roles, Takahata has continued to work in high-profile animated projects. She lent her voice to the Studio Ghibli film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya in 2013 as Lady Sagami and more recently voiced a character in the 2023 film The Imaginary. Her career is marked by its longevity and range, moving between stage, live-action film, television drama, and animated works without being confined to a single genre. For her contributions to Japanese arts, she was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2014.
