Martin van den Ham

Description
Martin van den Ham was a Dutch cabaret performer and voice actor, recognized for his contributions to the Dutch-language dubbing of numerous animated series and films during the 1990s. His career was primarily rooted in theater, where he frequently collaborated with his partner, Hetty Heyting. Together with Heyting and Jon van Eerd, he created and performed in three musical theater productions: Vreemde Trekjes, Bloedlink, and Eelt. This improvisational theater work formed the core of his professional life, culminating in a cabaret-improvisation tour that began in September 1998.

Alongside his stage career, van den Ham became a familiar voice in Dutch-dubbed animation. He is notably credited as the voice of the character Tracey in the Pokémon franchise, including in the short film Pikachu's Rescue Adventure. His voice work in popular series extended to several other prominent roles. He was the first voice actor to portray Dubbel D (Edd) in the Dutch version of Ed, Edd n Eddy. He also voiced the iconic Bugs Bunny in Dutch-dubbed Looney Tunes productions and the film Space Jam. His other animation credits include Fiver in Waterschapsheuvel, Thoran in The Silver Brumby, Pip in Bruine Beer in het Blauwe Huis, Bradley "Brad" Uppercrust III in An Extremely Goofy Movie, and multiple characters in the series Argaï, such as Meneer Po, Captain Billy, Jason, and Gargal de woudgeest.

Van den Ham's voice acting career, like his theater work, was marked by a consistent output in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His professional trajectory was cut short when he died suddenly from a heart attack in March 2001 at the age of 38, bringing an end to his theater tour and dubbing work.
