Junko Shimakata is a Japanese voice actress born on August 12, 1967, in Kanagawa Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. Shimakata is a graduate of Aoni Production's training school, Aoni Juku, having completed the 9th term of its Tokyo school.
Her motivation to become a voice actor began in childhood after watching the television anime series Candy Candy. She pursued this goal seriously in high school and later honed her skills as a member and leader of her school's drama club.
