Wakana Minami is a Japanese voice actor, singer, and stage actress born on March 1, 1994, in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. She began her entertainment career in 2014 after graduating from the Human Academy in Shibuya. Her entry into the voice acting industry was unique; while working as a helper at an event in Kitakyushu, she was scouted by veteran voice actor Hideo Ishikawa, leading to her affiliation with Aoni Production without going through the typical audition process. She was initially associated with Aoni Production under her birth name, Kingyo Wakana, before transitioning to a new agency and stage name in 2019.
In August 2019, Minami transferred her voice acting representation to the agency Hibiki and simultaneously changed her stage name from Kingyo Wakana to Minami Wakana. Her representation later moved to Galaxy Promotion in June 2024. Throughout her career, her activities have also been managed by other entities for different facets of her work, including stage acting and singing.
