Shie Kohinata

Description
Shie Kohinata is a Japanese actress, tarento, and singer who was born in Tokyo on October 8, 1979. She began her career in entertainment as a model in 1994 before expanding into acting and music. While her primary body of work is in live-action film and television, she has performed voice acting roles in anime productions.

Her voice acting credits include the role of Mikuru in the original video animation series Trava: Fist Planet, which was released between 2001 and 2002. In this science fiction OVA, she voiced an amnesiac girl encountered by the protagonists. Other anime voice roles include Pepe Rima in the 2008 television series Michiko & Hatchin and a character in the children's program Oden-kun.

Kohinata's career is marked by frequent collaborations with director Katsuhito Ishii. Beyond voicing Mikuru in his Trava: Fist Planet, she appeared in his live-action films, notably playing Toshiko Momojiri in Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl in 1998. This working relationship with Ishii and his frequent collaborators, such as actor Yoshiyuki Morishita and composer Hideaki Anno, is a consistent feature of her filmography.

Her notable achievements outside of voice acting include a successful run as a singer in the late 1990s and early 2000s, releasing several singles and an album. She also had a regular role on the Fuji Television variety show Cocorico Miracle Type.
