Chieko Atarashi is a Japanese voice actress and narrator born on January 31, 1968, in Neyagawa, Osaka Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production. Atarashi graduated from the home economics department of Shoin Women's College Junior College before training as a member of the 15th graduating class of Aoni Juku in Osaka. Her native Osaka dialect is a noted aspect of her performances, adding authenticity and charm to her roles.

Atarashi began her professional voice acting career in 1998, with early roles in television anime such as Mamotte Shugogetten and Yu-Gi-Oh!. The following year, she provided the voice for the character Mokomoko in the tenth Dr. Slump theatrical film, Dr. Slump: Arale no Bikkuri Bān. This film role is one of her early notable credits in anime feature films.

Her career encompasses a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and narration. In anime, she is recognized for her long-standing contributions to major long-running series. She voiced multiple characters over many years in Crayon Shin-chan and Atashin'chi. She also took on roles in One Piece as Shushu, Transformers: Micron Legend as Kelly, Angelic Layer as Kyoko, and Detective Conan, where she played characters such as Kaho Handa and Naho Ojiro. Her film work extends beyond Dr. Slump to include appearances in Crayon Shin-chan: The Storm Called! The Kasukabe Boys of the Evening Sun, Summer Days with Coo, and Colorful.

In the realm of video games, Atarashi has voiced characters across numerous titles. Her roles include Angela in Growlanser, Mary King in Getter Robo Daikessen! and Super Robot Wars GC, and Lunaria Burns in Tales of Fandom Vol. 1.
