Ingeborg Lapsien was a German actress and voice actress, born on October 16, 1926, in Königsberg, Germany. She died on June 5, 2014, at the age of 87. Her career was deeply rooted in classical theatre before she became a familiar voice in German-dubbed versions of international films and television series. She received her acting training in Munich from 1946 to 1948 under Ruth von Zerboni and made her stage debut in 1948. Her theatre work was extensive, including a notable performance as Yvette in Bertolt Brecht's production of Mother Courage at the Munich Kammerspiele. She was a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen from 1960 to 1966 and later worked as a freelance actress on various German stages.

In addition to her stage work, Lapsien appeared in numerous German film and television productions. Her on-screen roles included the character Katharina Wespe in the popular series Büro, Büro, as well as parts in the television series Silas, Derrick, and Der Alte. She also had roles in film adaptations of works by authors such as Heinrich Böll and Johannes Mario Simmel.

Lapsien's voice acting career is particularly well-documented. She provided the German voice for a wide array of characters in international productions. For American television, she was the voice of Ann Guilbert's character Yetta Rosenberg in the later seasons of Die Nanny (The Nanny), Anne Meara as Dorothy Halligan in Alf, and Celia Lovsky as the Vulcan high priestess T'Pau in Raumschiff Enterprise (Star Trek). In film, she dubbed Geraldine McEwan in Robin Hood: König der Diebe (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves).

Relevant to anime and animated series, Lapsien contributed her voice to the German versions of several notable productions. She is credited with voicing a role in the German dub of the 1980 anime series Nirusu no fushigi na tabi (The Wonderful Adventures of Nils), which is based on the novel by Selma Lagerlöf. This series is part of the Sekai Meisaku Dōwa (World Masterpiece Theatre) anthology. Furthermore, she voiced the character Cologne, the great-grandmother of Shampoo, in the German dub of the popular anime series Ranma ½. Her work in this genre also includes providing the German voice for Miss Drycunt in the 2004 film Der WiXXer, a comedic homage to classic German thrillers. Through this extensive body of voice work, Ingeborg Lapsien became a well-recognized figure in German dubbing, bringing a wide range of international characters to life for German-speaking audiences.
