Chiyoko Honma is a Japanese actress and singer who was born in Nagano Prefecture on January 29, 1945. Her career in entertainment began to take shape in the early 1960s. During her elementary school years, she was a member of several children's choirs, and she studied music under the renowned composer Isao Tomita. Her connection to Tomita deepened as her older sister later married him.

Honma began appearing in youth-oriented films around 1963, a period during which she was noted for her clean-cut appearance. Her filmography from this era is extensive and primarily consists of live-action roles in a variety of Japanese films, including gangster dramas and period pieces. Some of her many live-action film credits from the 1960s include Sasuke and His Comedians, Eleven Gangsters, The Big Boss, and Penitentiary Brothers.

In addition to her live-action work, Honma contributed her voice to a small number of animated films during the mid-1960s. She is known for providing the voice of the character Karoo, a key role in the 1963 Toei Animation film Doggie March, which is also known as Wan Wan Chuushingura. This film, based on an original story by Osamu Tezuka, features a cast of animal characters and tells the story of a puppy's quest for revenge. Her other notable voice role from this period is the Princess of the Purple Planet in the 1965 animated feature Gulliver's Space Travels.

Beyond acting, Chiyoko Honma was also recognized as a singer, known for performing many youth-oriented songs with a clear vocal style. Her contributions to Japanese film and music during the 1960s have led to her being regarded as a legendary youth star of that era, even though visual records from that time are relatively scarce.
