Description
Jaime de Diego was a Spanish voice actor known for his extensive work in the dubbing of anime series and films for the Spanish market. Born in the Basque Country, he was active in the industry for many years and also worked as a dubbing teacher, closely associated with the FXMedia studio.
De Diego contributed a wide range of voices to numerous prominent anime franchises distributed by LUK Internacional. He was particularly involved in the dubs for long-running series such as Shin-chan, Sargento Keroro, and especially Doraemon, where he occasionally voiced the iconic character Suneo Honekawa. His film work included roles in several Doraemon and Dorami-chan short films. Among his early credits are the roles of Miekichi in Dorami-chan: Hello, Dynosis Kids!! and Chibisuke in Dorami-chan: Wow, The Kid Gang of Bandits. In the 1989 film Dorami-chan: Mini-Dora SOS, he voiced two characters: Suneki, the son of Suneo, as well as Suneo Honekawa himself. He also voiced Suneo in the 1993 short film Doraemon: What Am I for Momotaro. Beyond the world of Doraemon, he took on the role of Ryo Takaba in the racing anime Bakusō Kyōdai Let's & Go!! and voiced the character Niganiga in The Doraemons: Strange, Sweets, Strange?.
In addition to his work in film and television, de Diego was involved in dubbing for video games, lending his voice to adaptations of the Shin-chan franchise for Nintendo DS and Wii, including Shin chan: ¡Contra los plastas! and Shin Chan: ¡Aventuras de cine!. One of his more recent and notable roles was providing the voice for Mikey in the popular anime series Tokyo Revengers. Jaime de Diego passed away on November 24, 2022, at the age of 51, leaving behind a significant body of work in Spanish anime dubbing.
