Verena Wiet was a German actress and voice actress, born on August 30, 1925, in Bremen and died on August 16, 2011, in Hamburg. Her career in performing arts began with stage acting, for which she trained in Bremen and Oldenburg. She gained experience at theaters in several German cities, including Bremen, Flensburg, Aachen, Frankfurt am Main, and notably Hamburg, where she performed at venues such as the Junges Theater, the Thalia Theater, and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus. In addition to her stage work, she appeared in on-screen roles in German television series like Hafenpolizei, Polizeifunk ruft, and Der Landarzt throughout the 1960s to the 1990s. Wiet was also active as a radio play actress, participating in numerous productions from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Alongside her on-screen and stage performances, Verena Wiet built a substantial body of work as a voice actress, dubbing foreign-language productions for a German-speaking audience. One of her most recognized voice roles was providing the German voice for Betty White in the popular television series Golden Girls and its spin-off Golden Palace. Her work in the field of anime and animation dubbing included lending her voice to various characters in German adaptations of animated series. According to available records, her anime voice roles include the character Rotkäppchen in an episode of Grimm's Fairy Tales, Fräulein Sänger in Hello! Spank, and multiple roles in New Grimm's Fairy Tales, such as Die alte Frau (in Die sechs Schwäne), Frau Holle, Großmutter, and another iteration of Rotkäppchen. She also voiced the Hexe des Nordens in an adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In the 1983 anime series The Yearling, based on the novel of the same name, she voiced the character known as Fredericks Mutter.
