Bobbie Byers
Description
Bobbie Byers is an American actress recognized for her work in the English-language dubs of Japanese anime series during the 1960s. She was born on October 7, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa. Her career includes both live-action and voice acting roles. Byers is known for providing the voice of Captain Bonnie Bunny in the English adaptation of the 1965 anime series Wonder Three, which was retitled The Amazing 3 for its American release. This series, created by Osamu Tezuka and produced by Mushi Productions, featured three alien protagonists who disguised themselves as Earth animals. Byers voiced the character of Bonnie, the rabbit member of the trio. The English-language version was dubbed by Copri Films International in Miami, Florida, and syndicated in the United States starting in 1967. Her voice castmates on The Amazing 3 included Neil Patrick as Ronnie the horse and Paul Brown as Zero the duck. In addition to her role in The Amazing 3, Byers is also credited with voice work in the English version of the 1967 anime series Giant Robo, known in the U.S. as Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot. For this series, she was credited as Catherine Byers.
