Description
Punch UFO is the stage name of Shunta Kobayashi, a Japanese entertainer born on January 12, 1967, in Fukuoka, Japan. His primary career has been as a comedian, where he experienced a period of popularity around the turn of the century, particularly for his work in radio comedy. While his main profession is in comedy, he has also performed occasional voice acting roles in anime.
His most recognized voice role is Speedbreaker in the 2000 anime series Transformers: Robots in Disguise, which is known as Transformers: Car Robots in Japan. In this series, he provided the Japanese voice for the young, fast-driving Autobot character. This character was adapted for English-speaking audiences as Side Burn.
Other credited voice roles include characters in various anime television series. He voiced Fūsenman in the long-running Anpanman franchise and Big Melon in Tarō the Space Alien. Additional credits include the character Shadowman in Tantei Shōnen Kageman and Boufuraikeno in Yoshimoto Muchikko Monogatari. His voice acting work, however, is noted to be limited.
