Barbi Schiller is a German former singer and voice actress, primarily known for her work on the German-language adaptations of various anime series and films, most notably within the Pokémon franchise. Born in Regensburg, Germany, she had a multifaceted early life that included musical training from a young age and a period of working as a freelance journalist before her career in entertainment began. As a singer, Schiller achieved notable success with the song "In der Dunkelheit der Nacht," the German version of "Misty's Song" from the Pokémon series. Released in 2000, the single charted in Austria, reaching number 37, and earned a nomination for the Austrian Amadeus music award in 2001. She also recorded the French version of the same song and contributed to various other Pokémon albums and soundtracks, including the German title song for the animated film "Wie Kater Zorbas der kleinen Möwe das Fliegen beibrachte," in which she also provided a voice role. Her voice acting career began around 2002 and is closely tied to the anime genre. She was frequently cast in roles for series broadcast on German television. She has over 40 voice acting credits. Schiller's most recognized role is that of Bianca, a main character in the 2002 animated film Pokémon Heroes – Latias & Latios. She voiced the Italian girl who is a close friend to the legendary Pokémon Latias and Latios. Beyond this film, she voiced various other characters in the long-running Pokémon anime series across different seasons, including characters named Bell, Peggy, Brittany, Samantha, and Rosebay. Her anime voice work also extended to other popular series; for instance, she voiced Emily York in the German dub of Beyblade G Revolution and took on multiple roles in the series Magical DoReMi. In addition to animation, Schiller dubbed the German voices for numerous actresses in live-action films. Her notable film dubbing credits include providing the voice for Alison Lohman as the young Sandra Bloom in Big Fish, Chelan Simmons as Ashley Freund in Final Destination 3, and Jaime Ray Newman as Arielle in Verliebt in die Braut. She also voiced characters in the horror film The Happening and the television film Elvis. Her work spanned a variety of genres, from horror to drama, and included dubbing for television series like Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Since 2010, Barbi Schiller has no longer been publicly active as a singer or voice actress. Following her entertainment career, she returned to academia and earned a doctorate in social sciences from the Technical University of Munich. She now works professionally as an Agile Coach and Agile Change Manager.
