Sean Barker

Description
Sean Barker is the professional pseudonym of David Hayter, a Canadian-American voice actor, screenwriter, and producer widely recognized for his extensive work in anime dubbing and video games. He adopted the alias Sean Barker from the protagonist he played in the 1994 live-action film Guyver: Dark Hero and used it for many of his voice acting credits in the 1990s and early 2000s.

His career in anime voice acting is primarily associated with the English dubs produced during this period. One of his notable roles from this era is Doricas Soldam IV, known as Fourth, in the 1996 English adaptation of the sci-fi film They Were Eleven. He is also well-regarded for his performance as Bernard Wiseman, the young Zeon pilot Bernie, in the acclaimed OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.

Under the Sean Barker name, Hayter accumulated a diverse filmography of anime roles throughout the 1990s. These included starring as Tamahome in the fantasy series Fushigi Yûgi, voicing the gentleman thief Arsène Lupin III in a dub of The Castle of Cagliostro, and taking on the role of Kurama in the Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie. He also provided voices for Giant Robo: The Animation, Black Jack, and lent his talents to dubs of Street Fighter II V and Moldiver.

While his early career was marked by these anime roles, David Hayter became globally renowned for his work in video games, most famously as the definitive English voice of Solid Snake and Naked Snake in Konami's Metal Gear Solid series, a role he played from 1998 to 2010. His success in voice acting led to a prominent career as a Hollywood screenwriter, for which he is credited with writing the films X-Men, X2, and Watchmen.
