Born Huong Hoang on July 16, 1971, in Saigon, Vietnam, she moved to the United States and pursued a diverse educational background, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine before training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her career in voice acting began in 1998, with her debut role reported to be in the English adaptation of the anime Princess Minerva.
