Blair Fairman, also known as Blain Alden Fairman, was a Canadian actor and voice actor born on December 26, 1941, in Victoria, British Columbia. Before pursuing acting professionally, he trained and worked as a wood mechanic. His on-screen acting career spanned from 1966 to 2017 and included appearances in over 60 film and television productions, such as roles in the films Aliens (1986) and The Great Gatsby (1974). He was also a familiar face on British television, with guest roles in series like The Bill and a 20-episode stint as a narrator on the children's program Jackanory from 1971 to 1976.

Alongside his live-action work, Fairman had a notable career providing voices for English-language dubs of Japanese anime, primarily during the late 1980s and 1990s. These dubs were often produced for the UK market by companies like Manga UK. In the OAV series Mad Bull 34, he voiced the Narrator in a 1996 English version, though this role was uncredited. He also took on the role of Seichiro Toba in the English dub of the OAV series Sohryuden - Legend of the Dragon Kings.

Fairman's other anime voice work includes several films directed by Mamoru Oshii. He provided voices in both Patlabor: The Movie (1989) as Seitaro Sakaki and Patlabor 2: The Movie (1993) as Shigeki Arakawa. His filmography also includes roles in Roujin Z (1991) as the 2nd Ache and New Dominion Tank Police (1993) as Colsman. In some projects, such as the OAV Mermaid Forest, he was credited under the pseudonym Bob Foster.
