Kayoko Kawahara

Kayoko Kawahara is a Japanese voice actor born on July 29, 1963. She was formerly affiliated with the talent management firm 81 Produce, and her period of most prominent activity in the anime industry was during the early 1990s.

Kawahara's career includes a range of voice roles in anime television series and original video animations from that era. One of her earliest known credits is from 1987 in the OVA Maryu Senki. In 1989, she provided additional voices for an episode of the long-running children's series Soreike! Anpanman and also voiced a Female Student in the series Yajikita Gakuen Douchuuki. The following year, she had a role in the 1990 OVA Licca: Fushigi na Fushigi na Yunia Monogatari.

The year 1991 was a busy one for Kawahara, featuring several roles. She voiced the character Gladys Hillman in the television series Mischievous Twins: The Tales of St. Clare's. That same year, she played a Schoolgirl B in the OVA Blazing Transfer Student, also known as Honoo no Tenkousei, and had a small role as a female secretary in the acclaimed drama anime Oniisama e....

In 1992, Kawahara took on the role of Mito Yamada in the comedy OVA Hanappe Bazooka, a work based on an original story by Go Nagai and Kazuo Koike. This role is one of the more widely documented credits of her career.

Beyond voice acting, Kawahara also demonstrated her abilities as a singer. She performed the ending theme song for the OVA Nyuuin Bokki Monogatari: Odaiji ni!, collaborating with Arika Takarano of the musical group ALI PROJECT for that track.
