Yurika Wakisaka

Description
Yurika Wakisaka is a Japanese entertainer known for her work as a singer and dancer, with a single, specific credit in anime voice acting. Her sole voice role is in the 2012 anime series Backstage Idol Story, a production that documented the activities of the idol group BiS, of which she was a member.

In Backstage Idol Story, Wakisaka voiced a character named Wakisaka Yurika 11-sei, an animated version of herself. The series aired from October to November 2012 and featured all members of BiS at the time voicing their respective counterparts. Her character appeared in all eight episodes of the series, which blended documentary-style backstage discussions with ad-libbed talk segments.

Her career background is primarily rooted in the Japanese idol music scene. She joined the group BiS (Brand-new idol Society) in April 2012 as a first-generation member. Later that year, she participated in the anime that would feature her voice acting debut. Her time with BiS concluded in March 2013 due to a recurring ankle injury, after which she retired from entertainment to focus on her university studies. After a seven-year hiatus, she returned to the entertainment industry in 2020 and subsequently joined the dance and vocal unit Aglet in 2021. Her voice acting work remains confined to this single project, directly tied to her identity as a member of BiS.
