Nozomi Hirano is a Japanese entertainer known primarily for her career as an idol, which led to a voice acting role in a 2012 anime. She was born on May 15, 1992. Before beginning her career in entertainment, she was not engaged in employment, education, or training.
Hirano's professional career began when she became a founding member of the first generation of the alternative idol group BiS (Brand-new Idol Society) on December 9, 2010. Within the group, she was characterized as the "my pace member" and was associated with the color yellow. She remained with BiS for its entire duration, from its formation until its initial disbandment on July 8, 2014.
During her time with BiS, Hirano took on her sole documented voice acting role. In the autumn of 2012, she voiced a character in the anime series Backstage Idol Story. The character, named Hirano Nozomi III-sei, was directly based on her real-life persona as a member of BiS and incorporated biographical elements, such as her hobby of watching YouTube videos. This casting extended to other members of BiS at the time, who also voiced characters based on themselves. The series aired on the music channel Space Shower TV from October to November 2012. Hirano's involvement with this project also included starring in related live-action films, such as Idol Is Dead in 2012 and its 2014 sequel, Idol Is Dead -Non-chan no Propaganda Daisensou-, in which she played the lead role.
Following the disbandment of BiS, Hirano continued her career in music. Along with fellow BiS member First Summer Uika, she formed the unit BILLIE IDLE, which was announced at BiS's final concert and debuted in January 2015. With this group, she also contributed as a lyricist, writing songs such as Douse Kiete Shimau Inochi Nara... and Hikkuri Kaesite. Hirano remained active in music until BILLIE IDLE disbanded in December 2019. After a brief hiatus, she joined a new unit called Ohanano in June 2020.
Beyond her performances, documented aspects of her career include a tendency to sing harmony vocals on the songs she featured in. Her known interests include K-Pop and cosplay.
