Greg Starr is an American writer, translator, and former voice actor based in Japan, recognized for his contributions to English-language dubs of anime films produced by Frontier Enterprises during the 1970s and 1980s. Originally from Tennessee, he moved to Tokyo in 1970 to study at Sophia University. To support himself through school, he took on various jobs, including delivering meat, writing lyrics for bands, and providing voices for English dubbed versions of Shochiku's Tora-San films. His work in anime voice acting was an occasional endeavor undertaken during this period.
Starr's most notable voice acting credit is the role of Sanpei in the 1985 anime film The Dagger of Kamui, also known as Kamui no Ken. He is also credited with voicing characters in several other Frontier Entertainment dubs. His filmography includes providing voices for multiple characters in the 1978 film Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo, where he played Detective Ed Scott, Flinch, and a Dietman.
