Nicole Favart was a French actress who became highly active in the field of dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous actresses and characters in film and television. Her career began on the stage; while a student at the Conservatoire de Paris, she made her debut at the Comédie-Française. She transitioned to dubbing in the early 1960s.

In the realm of animation and anime, Favart is recognized for voicing the iconic space pirate Emeraldas. She lent her voice to this character in the 1982 feature film Albator: L'Atlantis de ma jeunesse, known in English as Arcadia of My Youth. In some French adaptations, the character was also referred to as Esmeralda or Emeraldia. This role connects her to the enduring legacy of Leiji Matsumoto's universe.

Her other notable work in anime includes providing the French voice for Mademoiselle Amélia in the classic series Princesse Sarah. She was also the voice of Dora in the Studio Ghibli film Kiki la petite sorcière and voiced characters in films such as Le Royaume de Ga'hoole and Gnoméo et Juliette. Her work extended to Western animation as well, where she was, for instance, the voice of Grand-mère Sophie in La Famille Delajungle.

Throughout her extensive career, Favart became a regular French voice for several actresses, including Diane Ladd and Kathryn Joosten. She also took on the role of voice director for various films, TV movies, and series, such as the French dubbing of Hercule Poirot. Her contributions to French-language dubbing spanned several decades, from the 1960s until at least 2019 with a voice role in the animated film J'ai perdu mon corps. Nicole Favart passed away on January 12, 2026.
