Yukiko Ehara, born August 29, 1964, in Tokyo, is a Japanese television personality, actress, and former singer and model who is professionally known by the stage name You. Her career began in the entertainment industry after she was scouted as a model in Harajuku. In 1985, she launched a singing career under her birth name, releasing her first single Chotto Dake. In 1988, she became the vocalist and songwriter for the pop band Fairchild, a group she formed with bassist Seiji Toda. During this period, she adopted the stage name You. Her career focus shifted from music to television starting in 1990 when she became a regular on the radio show MBS Youngtown and subsequently on the television program Downtown no Gottsu Ee Kanji. The band Fairchild disbanded in 1993 as her acting and television work expanded.
