Marcelle Lajeunesse

Description
Marcelle Lajeunesse was a French voice actor known for her extensive work in the dubbing of animated series, particularly Japanese anime, for the French-language market during the 1970s and 1980s. She was born on January 3, 1924, and passed away on July 27, 1990.

Her career was primarily defined by her contributions to the French adaptations of popular anime series of the era. She is perhaps best recognized for voicing the principal role of Huckleberry Finn, the loyal and resourceful best friend of the titular character, in the 1980 Japanese animated series The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. This role is one of the most frequently cited in her filmography. In addition to this signature part, she voiced Kiki the monkey in the series Tao Tao. She was also a part of the French-language casts for other major anime productions, providing voices for the series Goldorak, where she played the characters Mizar and the mother of Banta, and Il était une fois... l'Espace, for which she contributed additional voices.

Beyond these key roles, Lajeunesse had a prolific career as a character actor in dubbing, contributing her voice to a wide array of parts in numerous other series. Her credits from this period include roles in Albator, Candy, La Bataille des Planètes, La Petite Maison dans la Prairie, Maya l'Abeille, Nils Holgersson, and Zora la rousse, among many others. Her work extended to audio recordings as well; for instance, she voiced Mizar on a Goldorak story record and was one of the voice actors on a Disney LP titled Goofy... Dingo Du Sport. This extensive body of work established Marcelle Lajeunesse as a familiar and significant presence in French-language anime and animation dubbing during its formative years in France.
