Description
Daveigh Chase is an American actress and voice actress, born on July 24, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her family moved from Albany, Oregon, to Los Angeles to support her burgeoning career.

While Chase is recognized for her work in live-action films and television, her contribution as a voice actress in anime is primarily defined by one iconic role. She provided the English voice for the lead character, Chihiro Ogino, in the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away. This English-language dub of Hayao Miyazaki's acclaimed film was released in North America in 2002, the same year the original Japanese version won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Beyond this singular, prominent anime role, Chase's voice acting career is more extensively defined by her work in Western animation. Her most significant and sustained voice role was as the lead character, Lilo Pelekai, in Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise. She voiced the character in the original 2002 feature film, the subsequent television series Lilo & Stitch: The Series, and several direct-to-video sequels and films. This performance earned her an Annie Award for Outstanding Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production in 2003. Her other voice work in animation includes the lead role of Betsy in the PBS children's series Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures and guest voices in shows like Fillmore!.

Chase's career has been marked by several notable achievements and accolades. In addition to her Annie Award for Lilo & Stitch, she won the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain in 2003 for her live-action role as Samara Morgan in the horror film The Ring. She also received a Young Artist Award for her voice-over work in Lilo & Stitch. Her early live-action film credits include a role in the cult classic Donnie Darko.
