João Francisco Turelli was a Brazilian actor, voice actor, and dubbing director, recognized for his work in the industry from the 1970s until his passing in 1993. He was born on November 12, 1943, in Angatuba, São Paulo. Turelli began his dubbing career in 1973 at the renowned Herbert Richers studio in Rio de Janeiro, where he would also serve as a dubbing director for a decade. Over his twenty-year career, he worked at several major dubbing studios, including Herbert Richers, Telecine, VTI Rio, and Delart.

Turelli is notably remembered in anime for providing the voice of the skilled and charismatic pilot Roy Focker in the Brazilian Portuguese dub of the classic series The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, which was titled Macross: Guerra das Galáxias in Brazil. His voice work in animation also included the role of the superhero Lanterna Verde (Green Lantern) in various incarnations of the Super Amigos (Super Friends) cartoons throughout the 1980s. His other animation credits included roles in series such as Thundercats, Transformers, and Flash Gordon.

Beyond animation, Turelli's extensive career encompassed dubbing roles in numerous live-action films and television series. He provided the Brazilian voice for Wedge Antilles, the X-wing fighter pilot played by actor Denis Lawson, in the original Star Wars sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. His other film dubbing credits included characters in major motion pictures such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Chinatown, Superman, The Godfather Part II, and several entries in the Death Wish film series. In television, he was known for voicing characters in popular series of the era, including Magnum, P.I. and Galactica: Astronave de Combate (Battlestar Galactica). Turelli's last active years in the industry were spent at the Herbert Richers and Delart studios in the early 1990s. He passed away on September 16, 1993, in Rio de Janeiro.
